Robin Meyer (Amersfoort, 1988)
Robin Meyer processes imagery he photographs or finds on the internet through the act of painting. The paint remains true to its own textural attributes, and each execution with the brush is distinctly pronounced, characterised by openness and sincerity of expression. This culminates in an assembly of strokes, surfaces and stains, all dictating the overthrow of the image that is represented. The alleged trivial reality is decoded to a more iconic equivalent which accommodates both the real and the perceived.
